Ice Storm!

Okay, so it may not look like a storm, but there is a sheet of ice covering everything outside. We woke up this morning to our neighbor's tree down on a power line. The electric company came and got that back up and running and we were only without power for an hour or so thankfully. The weather was calling for heavy snow in the afternoon, so we thought it would be a good idea to get the car into the garage before the snow came. (It was sitting on the street.) Well, Jesse got it as far as this photo shows, and it was stuck. Wheels just spin and spin and it won't go anywhere. He got some hay, some sand, poured them down under and in front of the wheels, still the car won't budge...just spins. Finally, he came inside to get me, and I steered the car while he pushed it up the driveway. Total time to get the car into the garage = one hour. Now, the firetruck photo...what you don't see is the motion of the firetruck going backwards down the street. Another truck (a tree trimming one ironically!) had an accident at the end of our street, and it was completely blocked off. So, the firetruck had no way to leave the neighborhood except to go backwards around the block. Anyway, that was our excitement today....lots of ice and watching cars spin out. I am just very thankful that neither of us had to go into work today and try to drive on this stuff!
